Muji Eye Shadow Quad

This is the Muji eye shadow quad that my friend helped me to get in Muji in HK last summer. Compare with the western tendency of metallics, Japanese tend to have their eye shadow shimmery as they aim for effortless look. However, they are also decent pigmented as I made the swatches fairly easily.

Furthermore, I like the design of the palette, as it is small and compact, easy to carry. Also the clear plastic design is very 'Muji', as they like things simple and minimal.

As you can tell from the size of the eye shadow, the bottom left is for highlight, bottom right is the eye liner. Top right is the eye shadow for the inner corner of the eye and the top left is for the outer corner.

The ray of Browns

Since I have started work from October, I found out that people in my office dont wear makeup, or mininal make up, so I kind of trying to adopt a more nude/ simple make up to work; and from then, I have build up a collection of brown/ netural eye shadows. [and I know this sounds like a very rubbish excuse to buy a lot of sutff hahaha]

Terefore, tomorrow, for this week, I am going to write about the 7 palettes that I currently using, as I still got a few hidden around my drawers.. lol

So see you tomorrow!

Muji Cosmetics!!

As Muji skincare range is getting popular in UK, I want to share my new shopping list that I have just send to my friend who just went back home (HK) this holiday. Thank god that I didn't plan to go back home yet, as my shopping list is already cost me more than HKD$500 (around £40) and muji is one of the main section on my list.

Muji cosmetics are good in both price and quality. Most of them are made in Japan and you only need to pay a high street price.

So my shopping list:

Checked Blush - orange ~ £6

[heard that muji blush are a cheaper version of shu uemura, so really keen to try their new verison. I wish to try the single colour ones, but that I don't use blush that often, so wait until i finish my other ones 1st]

Eye shadow quad - 01 brown ~ £6
[although I really like my sleek i-divine palette, they are far too big for my daily makeup bag, so I want to buy a small, handy palette. Also, some of you may notice, the japanese/ asian e/s are quite different from western ones, they are not that vivid but more shimmer.]

Eye Base ~ £5
[it just me, I love to try more eye base products, and this is cheap. lol]

So what do you think??

Can't wait to see them when my friend is back from hk this Sep!

p.s. all photos are from Muji Taiwan

p.s.s. this is good too, but i am not sure whether i should get it or not, what do you think?

Face Powder - Rose ~£8

This Week Shopping 2

Muji is one of my favourite store that I will visit when i need to or when I am bored... Just bought 3 quite essential things today...
1. the stack of case
use for my mixing medium, as i still want to found out the difference between using mineral water and distilled water. i cannot just let my shot glasses stay in the fridge as there isnt much space, so if i put into a stack, i can at least hide them in the drinks shelf.
also, my homemade honey mask always homeless. it always stays in the PS bowl that i used for mixing, so it can stay at the last jar of this stack.
2. transfer set
if anyone knows to press their pigments/ loss powder, then you will know the difficulties when you haven't got the proper tools at home. I know bloggers in HK suggest using the ice cream spectula that comes along with mini ice cream cups in 7-11. But there's no 7-11 and those ice cream in HK, so this mini set is quite useful.
In this set, there's a funnel and a pipette which are helpful for transfer liquid, i.e. alcohol for disinfections.
p.s. seems like a while, i havnt use pipette for ages.....
3. eye mask paper
I am not a mask person either...(seems i am not a _____person for all the time......omg....) this mask paper is good enough for me. the only main problem with my skin is the eye area, so i want to much focus on them. also, my cheekbone area is a trouble when i got skin irritant, as all the rashes are scattered around that area. also the sun burnt......@.@
as the size of the cheekbone is quite small, so i think this can be used as my cheek mask...hahaha

My DIY Make UP Palette

See post 推介!! $88 自組彩妝寶盒 @ http://www.theztyle.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=3049&highlight=%E7%84%A1%E5%8D%B0), I thought this is a good idea.

Can't find the case in that post in London Muji, so have to stick to the one without mirror.. But can always stick another one though....

So here's the end product which took me a few hour as this is my 1st time @.@:
Close Look:

Top

LHS: DiorSkin Extreme Fit Moist Compact Foundation SPF25
RHS: The Body Shop Eye Colour Fusion Shade: Fusion Brown
the Gold & white e/s, I forgot what they are, bought from Sasa few years ago, the packing all wear out.. @.@

Bottom
LHS: Sponge
RHS: 17 Lip Gloss Bonjour Monsieur

Don't know whether anyone can guess where the blue palette from.. they are acutally the original packing of my Dior foundation sample, I used 2 sample and just cut the base out to fit into this Muji card case.

Also, remove the original metal pan that hold the foundation and repress the foundation as i need the metal pan for another palette. As the pan is glued on, so use nail polish remover to dissolve the glue and use rubbing alcohol to clean it before you press anything into it.

p.s. i need to find a few mini lip brush, but seems quite difficult @.@
